History

The informational meeting of the chapter was held on Saturday October 17th, 1998.  Our founder, Tracy Wade, hosted the meeting at the Kingsgate Library in Kirkland, WA.  Jan Dressler, from Dressler Stencil Company, was the guest speaker.  The turn out was great and it seemed that there was plenty of interest for this new chapter to form.  On February 6th, 1999 the first meeting of the chapter was held and the chapter began.

Emerald City Artisans received is chapter charter from SALI, Inc at the 1999 convention in Philadelphia. This would be the first Chapter to be established in Washington State.  Tracy Wade was not only the founder of Emerald City Artisans; she was the first President and continues to be very active in the chapter.
