Class
Guidelines
Two or three times a year, The
Emerald City Artisans Chapter offers 2-3 day work shops taught by
some of the most talented artist in the industry. We feel that
education is very important and great care is taken for choosing the
teacher and the classes to be taught. Classes are open to all
Emerald City Artisans. Membership in SALI and Emerald City Artisans
Chapter is required to participate in the classes. Classes will be
offered a minimum of 6 weeks in advance, announced at chapter
meetings and in the ECA newsletter .Class availability is by first
come first serve basis. Your name will be added to the list only
when payment is received. These classes are offered as a benefit to
our members, based on their popularity, space availability, and
teacher’s agreement.
Class
Registration Instructions

Fill out the enclosed
registration form and mail/or bring to a meeting in with class fee
or your deposit. Make sure to list the class you are registering
for.

You will receive all class
information confirmation via email or by mail.
Types of
Classes
Workshops are two or three days,
6-8 hours each day. The maximum number of students is based on the
space availability and by choice of the teacher. All classes are
"hands on" classes and every effort is made to complete the project.
Students may or may not complete the project in class, depending on
the individuals speed.
Every effort is taken to ensure
the artistic level of the class is a level for all ECA members.
Please make sure you are at the required level for the class you are
signing up for.

Beginner - Student
has limited knowledge of basic fundamentals and minimal skills in
the stated medium.

Intermediate -
Student has had previous classes, some experience and well-developed
skills in the stated medium.

Advanced - Provides
a challenging experience for experienced painters.
Supplies
to Bring
Any additional supplies required
to complete with class will be indicated with your class information
when you register. These will be specific items that you will need
for class. Without them you may not be able to complete the class
project.

Allow your work to dry before
stacking or packing. Bring large garbage bags, wax paper or other
materials to protect your samples for taking home.
Material
Costs
The supply fee includes any
material costs passed on to the students. The costs may include,
but are not limited to, the working surface, surface preparation,
paint, stencils, plasters, tolls, printed materials, plastic floor
covering, teacher expenses, and shipping costs.

NO VIDEO OR AUDIO RECORDING
EQUIPMENT IS ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM. Please obtain permission
from the teacher before taking photographs in the class rooms.

Please TURN OFF ALL CELL
PHONES. Please put cell phones on vibrate if you are
expecting a call during class and please take that call outside of
the classroom. Please avoid making calls during the class. This
is very inconsiderate to the teacher and fellow students and will
not be tolerated.

Please remember, the class is
for a learning experience therefore you may not completely finish
your project in class. This will vary from class to class and the
speed at which you work.
Cancellation Policy
Refunds will only be given if a
class is canceled by ECA due to low enrollment or student cancels
prior to 10 business days prior to the start date of the class or
the published date that the checks will be cashed whichever is
earlier. Should a student need to cancel subsequent to date
stated above, the student may find someone who is a SALI member to
sell their spot to but no refunds will be given. Any student
that pays for a class but is unable to attend is entitled to the
class supplies. For some reason if a student is unable to attend the
entire class, it is their responsibility to make sure they receive
all materials and written information from the teacher. Classes with
low pre-registration enrollment may be cancelled by agreement
between the teacher and the Education Committee.
Disposing of materials

Artisans and students in the class are responsible for properly
disposing of any materials and water buckets used for the class.
Warning
Various paint finishes and
solvents are used in a classroom environment. Please assess your
own health status before using these products. Emerald

Artisans, class teachers and agents assume no liability for health
status during use of or exposure to any-paint related products.
